The Good Beer Guide Belgium survives on good quality information received from beer lovers for beer lovers. It is ludicrously expensive to produce, takes no subsidy in the form of advertising, gifts or freebies from any brewery, café or others connected with the beer trade. It hates it when clever clog beer nerds take its information and make it available free of charge on private websites to all and sundry just so as to inflate the reputation of the messenger. It’s so rude.
Any information, negative or positive is always welcome at BelgiumGBG@aol.com even when work pressures (as in the day job) make us unable to reply. Accuracy is our by-word.
If you are planning a trip to Belgium and want to go off the beaten track then give us a few weeks notice and we will strike a deal that goes like this. You tell us roughly where you are thinking of going and we will send you our best new leads. In exchange you send us all updated information you find.
(NOTE: a few clever clog beer nerds abuse this deal but we have a withering Street of Shame exposé planned in the next edition for those who renege. You know our legendary wit and trust us you don’t want to be there.)
Signed copies of the Guide are only available from www.booksaboutbeer.com (UK £ 11.99 – Europe EUR 22.99 – Rest of the World US$ 29.99). You will get it a couple of dollars cheaper through Amazon and the like but the Guide receives only one-fifth as much income from such sales and only stays viable through its website sales.
