Good Beer Guide Belgium’s Tim Webb and Flemish beer’s answer to Oz Clarke have known each other for nearly twenty years and argued about what makes a great beer from day one. Here they combine to pick their own selection of their favourite 100 beers from the best brewing nation on earth and give them the sort of workover that only the greatest deserve. Co-starring the photography of Katherine Longly and design by Dale Tomlinson, both of whom also work for Cogan & Mater.
Great beer, like any other crafted work, comes about through the combining of the technical skills of beer-making with knowledge of how to be thorough and consistent, plus a bit of flair and the strength of character to make something that faith and understanding tell you that your customers will like.

160 pages. Beautifully illustrated in full colour throughout. Includes information on who imports the beers, how to store them, an introduction to the major beer styles and tips for restaurateurs on how to create and maintain a cellar in fine ales.
When we compiled ‘100 Belgians’ we were not trying to put together a list of the best beers from Belgium – there can be no such thing as best when the options are so broad. But we hope our selection is universally excellent and that we have managed to bring you the most interesting range possible from the market at the time.
Tim wrote the script and Joris provided the music, in the form of eloquent and incisive tasting notes.
Together we have tried to bring you something of each of the breweries featured, their histories and the characters who have shaped them.

The photography of Katherine Longly, who comes from Arlon in the south of Belgium and is now based in Brussels, has captured images our words could not describe.
Award-winning designer Dale Tomlinson, who sculpts Good Beer Guide Belgium for CAMRA and all of Cogan & Mater’s publications, blended the visual and the verbal matchlessly.
